VIVA Consulting&Management is a company founded in 1990 by Ezio Rendina, specialized in the observation, analysis and prediction of environmental acoustic and vibrational emissions produced by fixed and mobile sound sources, as well as in building and architectural acoustics.
The activities relating to environmental acoustics concern the study of emissions from sound sources and the related acoustic reduction and testing interventions, carried out with advanced analysis and recording instrumentation. This area also includes the preparation of noise maps of the territory and noise abatement plans.
The building and architectural acoustics division uses automatic calculation and simulation systems to carry out forecast assessments and on-site checks of passive acoustic requirements (pursuant to Prime Ministerial Decree 05/12/1997), the acoustic classification of real estate units and predictive simulations of acoustic quality in closed environments.
Good acoustic design is essential to prevent the high level of noise in a property - generated internally or coming from outside - which can represent a serious handicap; frequenters of spaces with different types of destination - residential, hotel, office, production - are the first to notice it. If, on the one hand, it is necessary to respect the legal obligations concerning data such as the minimum acoustic insulation values of residential units or the limits to the noise emissions produced by building systems; on the other hand, the usability of the environments, i.e. their acoustic comfort, cannot be overlooked.
VIVA C&M now has more than 500 projects in the field, ranging from environmental pre-feasibility assessments and acoustic requirements for infrastructures, to assistance in the construction of complex buildings. Among the most recent is the new Cagliari Calcio stadium – designed by architect Massimo Roj of Progetto CMR – in collaboration with the Sportium company. Iconic structures that involved the company and stand out from the building fabric of Milan are the Galfa Tower, the new “Quanta” Towers and the Generali Tower, or Hadid Tower. Added to these experiences are a series of interventions in the hospitality sector, which include prestigious locations such as the Hotel Cala di Volpe in Arzachena (OL), the Hotel Cheval Blanc (*****L) in Paris and the future Hotel Cipriani in Milan, for which the renovation of a historic building in Via Palestro is still underway.
The company's professionalism was also recognized during the XXVI edition of the ADI Compasso D'Oro (2020), which awarded the Chakra acoustic oasis, by Universal Selecta: a modular interior architecture system - supplied in kits - which allows you to create personalized privacy oases, for which VIVA C&M took care of the acoustic design.
It is important to underline that the sensitivity for the sector in which the company operates is growing more and more, especially in relation to the new remote working needs that have emerged since the outbreak of the pandemic: Eng. Ezio Rendina and his team of professionals aim to transform living spaces into welcoming spaces, thanks to technology and the materials industry.
